Community Involvement

Giving back to our local communities is a core pillar of making Collectivfide and our network, who we are. Do you have a sponsorship opportunity, or would you like us to be involved in a community event? Let us know; we’d love to help.

Canadian Tire Jumpstart

Our team, along with our building partners, Farm Mutual Re, Ontario Mutuals, and OMAP, participated in the second annual 9toThrive Wellness year-end 'We Care Challenge'. Together, thanks to everyone's effort and dedication, we reached our goal and donated $5,000 to Canadian Tire's Jumpstart Program. Jumpstart helps kids overcome financial and accessibility barriers to sport and recreation to provide inclusive play for kids of all abilities.

Cambridge Food Bank.

The Cambridge Food Bank is more than a food bank as they not only provides food to those in need in our community but also have many wellness programs for kids and adults. These programs provide life skills that can benefit everyone in the home, including easy and healthy, low-budget cooking classes, kinship support, counselling and more. This was our second year volunteering to help sort food and provide a donation so these programs can continue and food can always be available for those who need it.

Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is especially important for one of the team members at our broker partner, R.K. Mooney Insurance, as they’ve been a part of the organization for many years. The team at R.K. Mooney in collaboration with Collectivfide, raised over $1,800 for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the team facilitated a toy drive to help a family with four teens in need.

Simcoe Panorama.

This was our second year sponsoring in conjunction with our broker partner, dbi Brokers, the Simcoe Panorama. This year, they are celebrating 65 years, and have grown to more than 60 displays and over 500,000 lights. The event has become an annual tradition for many families all over Southern Ontario, with some even saying it’s better than the ones in Niagara.

Cambridge Food Bank.

Together, members from Collectivfide, Farm Mutual Re, Ontario Mutuals, and OMAP planted, weeded, watered, harvested and nurtured the community garden from our head office this past season, and donated over 236 pounds to the Cambridge Food Bank.

My Sisters Place.

Collectivfide and Doner-Horsley Insurance Brokers participated and donated to the Annual Potato Festival in Alliston, selling Krispy Kreme donuts, with 100% of proceeds going to My Sister’s Place. The team sold out by 11am, achieving their fundraising goal in addition to our monetary donation.

Tree Planting at Head Office.

As part of the Green team, in partnership with our building partners OMIA, OMAP and Farm Mutual Re, a few of the Collectivfide staff planted a micro-forest outside our office on 350 Pinebush in Cambridge to support environmental sustainability.

Big Brothers Big Sisters

It was another successful event for Barrie’s BBBS Bowl for Kids Sake. Collectivfide and our broker partner, R.K. Mooney donated $1,000 to the cause and was recognized as the 2nd highest in contribution.

Loaves & Fishes - Empty Bowls Fundraiser.

Together with W.C. Burgess, we donated and helped serve up smiles and soup for a great cause. The recently held Empty Bowls fundraising event, had donors receive a bowl of soup made by local chefs served in a handcrafted bowl made by local artisans. The hope is that each time an empty bowl is taken from one’s cupboard, it serves as a reminder that someone else’s bowl is empty. As a result, participants helped Loaves and Fishes alleviate hunger in the local Brockville community.

Cambridge Food Bank Donation.

Our team was so blown away by the Cambridge Food Bank and their programs that we donated $10,000 to ensure there is always food for those in need and help with their community programs.

Hurricane Fiona.

Our team, along with our building partners, Farm Mutual Re, Ontario Mutuals, and OMAP, worked together in the 9toThrive Wellness year-end 'We Care Challenge' to raise funds to support relief from Hurricane Fiona. By reaching our group goal of an average of 150 points per day (equivalent to 15,000 steps per day), $5000 was donated to the Canadian Red Cross in support of the Hurricane Fiona Relief Fund.

Cambridge Food Bank Sort.

The Collectivfide team toured the Cambridge Food Bank to learn more about what they do, their plans for the future and the fantastic programs they provide to the Cambridge community members.

After the tour, we helped sort the tonnes of food donated ahead of the holidays.

Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Collectivfide was proud to support our Broker Partner, R.K. Mooney Insurance, with a donation of grocery gift cards as requested for families of Big Brother Big Sister.

“Big Brother Big Sister is a non-profit organization that is committed to aid young children in need of positive influence as well as support in their life.

Mentoring a little brother was a thrilling experience I had. Nothing is more inspiring when you slowly see your little brother opening up to you, sharing personal feelings and experience certain things that otherwise would not be possible.”

- Carlos, from R.K. Mooney Insurance, sharing his Big Brother volunteer experience.

Simcoe Panorama.

Together with our Broker Partner, dbi Brokers, we sponsored the Penguin Display at the Simcoe Christmas Panorama.

“This event is very near and dear to the residents of Norfolk County, and we have many visitors from all over Ontario. Donations and volunteers help to keep the lights twinkling and upkeep the displays.  It is estimated that there are over 500,000 lights in the park.”

- Alice, from dbi Brokers, sharing her Simcoe experience.

Alliston Food Bank.

Our Broker Partner, Doner-Horsley Insurance Broker, participated in a fundraiser called, “It Takes a Village”, benefiting the Alliston Food Bank that Collectivfide was proud to donate to.

“We had a successful fundraiser and it was a very busy night. We raised over $2900 for the Food Bank and over the past 5 years “It Takes a Village” has raised over $40,000 for local charities.”

-Jo-Anne, from Doner-Horsley Insurance Broker

StuffIn Stockings.

Along with our neighbours, Farm Mutual Re, Collectivfide participated in StuffIn Stockings for a Cause, a charitable organization based in Waterloo Region that prepares and distributes stockings to charities such as House of Friendship, The Soup Kitchen, The Healing of the Seven Generations and more.

We provided items for 3 profiles, a homeless male (16 years), senior male (65+ years) and an adult female (19+ years).
